Here are three of the top stories in San Diego today:

  1. They are walking it back! "The city of San Diego will be removing the advisory bike lane recently installed on Gold Coast Drive," said the mayor in a letter distributed Friday to residents. The bike lane had been installed without prior warning or education. The City of San Diego will not make that mistake again! To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (NBC San Diego)
  2. Taxpayers are outraged — and rightly so! SANDAG Staff abused taxpayers by charging unauthorized expenses, such as upscale dining, to the people. Is it time to do away with SANDAG? Some people think so. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Patch)
  3. Cox Communications employees showed up with balloons and a $100K check for the Junior Achievement Fellows Program. The Fellows Program teaches financial literacy and provides paid internships to local high school students in San Diego. "I'm not usually speechless, but the Cox employees surprised us," said Sidd Vivek, president, and CEO of Junior Achievement of San Diego County. "We're proud to be the first-ever recipient of the Cox Charities Impact Grant. This will help us expand our JA Fellows Program to even more students in low- to moderate-income communities where there are already inequities when it comes to financial literacy and access to career pathways."
