Stuck Between A Rock And A Hard Place: Cal Fire Crews Free Trapped Goat In San Diego County
Firefighters from Station 44 Pine Valley and Station 45 Descanso helped free the goat.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Goats may say "meh" while sheep say "baa," but one goat got out of a baaaad situation, thanks to firefighters from Cal Fire San Diego.
The animal got stuck between two large rocks Friday night in the 9500 block of Mizpah Lane in Descanso, according to Cal Fire. Firefighters from Station 44 Pine Valley and Station 45 Descanso helped free the goat.
"Using a mix of teamwork, a little push, and a careful pull, the crew safely freed the trapped goat," Cal Fire said on X. "Before long, he was back on his hooves and ready to resume his fire prevention duties around the neighborhood."

The goat helps clear brush to prevent wildfires. The county uses grazing goats for fire protection, a program spearheaded by the San Diego Gas and Electric in partnership with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department and environmental land management companies.
"We are deeply honored to serve our communities and grateful for the trust placed in us to help when it's needed most," Cal Fire San Diego said on Facebook. "When a goat finds itself between a rock and a hard place, our firefighters don't kid around!"
