Thousands Of SDG&E Customers Without Power In East San Diego County
Unplanned outages are impacting customers in the Borrego Springs, Canebrake and Shelter Valley communities, according to SDG&E.
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA — Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were without power Wednesday morning in the far eastern reaches of San Diego County.
Multiple power outages were reported at 8:23 a.m. Wednesday, leaving thousands of homes without electrical service. A total of 2,779 SDG&E customers in Borrego Springs, Canebrake and Shelter Valley were impacted by the unplanned outages, according to the company's outage map.
SDG&E estimated that power would be restored by 2:30 p.m.

The cause of the outages was under investigation, according to the utility.
