  1. The Tijuana River has been fouling some San Diego beaches for years. “In 2019, my San Diego delegation colleagues and I secured $300 million to address the ongoing cross-border pollution in my district,” read a statement from Rep. Juan Vargas in a press release Thursday. “I’m proud to have worked diligently to create a legislative solution that would allow the (International Boundary and Water Commission) to use these funds."   2. A new baby has hatched! The San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomes a new North Island brown kiwi to the park. "We are very excited over the hatching of this chick," said Andrew Stehly, curator of birds at San Diego Zoo Safari Park. "Northern Island brown kiwis are notoriously difficult to breed in human care, and this is the first time we have hatched this species at the Safari Park."
