SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler than normal conditions to start off the week, according to the National Weather Service.

"High temperatures remain well below normal with a deep marine layer through Tuesday," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Sunday. "Gradual warming expected Wednesday through the end of next week with a shallower marine layer."

In other news, a missing toddler was found dead in a neighbor's pool; a child was shot; a man was accused of fatally stabbing his father; two people were killed in separate house fires; and a coastal landslide damaged several backyards.

Also, the Trump administration has taken aim at all 22 campuses of the California State University System, launching a probe into alleged antisemitism. The probe stems from campus protests against Israel's war in Gaza in the spring of 2024, after Hamas attacked Israel Oct. 7, 2023.

Plus, three-time Grammy winning Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny was named the Apple Music Halftime Show performer for Super Bowl LX, the National Football League announced. The game will take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
