- Warning! Respiratory illness is on the rise in San Diego County. It's a trifecta of COVID-19, influenza, respiratory syncytial virus cases (RSV) infecting San Diegans. Cough, runny nose, and fever are symptoms of RSV, and the protocol is to treat the symptoms. In severe cases where breathing is affected, hospitalization may be necessary. The emergency room waiting times have been long, especially at Rady Children's Hospital. Right now, all three illnesses are draining local hospitals. (NBC San Diego)
- It’s called Pacific Beach Surf Shop, and it’s the oldest surf shop in San Diego. Having opened back in 1962, it is now celebrating its 60th year in business. Owned by a surfer, the shop teaches surfing to adults and kids who want to learn how to ride the waves. The owner has just created a Surfer’s Journal, which provides information about the science behind surfing, waves, and weather. Lessons at Pacific Beach Surf Shop might just be a great holiday gift for someone on your list! (NBC San Diego)
- Which cars are most often stolen in San Diego? According to current data, Honda Civics and Accords, Chevy Silverado, Jeep Wranglers, and CR-Vs are the cars stolen in high numbers here in San Diego. Chevy and Ford pick-ups are the most common trucks stolen. From January 2021 until now, the SDPD has seen a huge spike in auto thefts here in San Diego. What to do? Roll up your windows, lock your car, take your keys, and park in well-lit parking areas. To avoid break-ins don’t keep anything in view inside your car. (CBS News 8)
