10K Reward Offered In Disappearance Of San Francisco Woman
Sydney West, 19, was last seen early in the morning of Sept. 30 on the Golden Gate Bridge.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The family of a missing woman who had recently moved to San Francisco at the time of her disappearance is offering a $10,000 reward for the person or people who have information leading to her location and return.
Sydney "Syd" Kaitlyn West, 19, was last seen on a foggy San Francisco morning, around 6:45 a.m. Sept. 30 on the Golden Gate Bridge.
Her parents have hired a private investigator who has looked into dozens of tips, but none have led to West's location, according to a news release from the family. Camera footage has been reviewed, and friends and acquaintances have been interviewed to no avail.

The reward will expire April 1. Her parents are pleading for people with information to come forward, as there were many pedestrians, cars and cyclists on the bridge that morning.
“Not knowing where she is is unbearable and every parent’s worst nightmare," said parents Kimberly and Jay West in the news release. "To our family, including her younger sister, her grandparents, her friends and everyone whose life she touched —including those who never even met her but know of her ‘story’, we’ve had such an outpouring of love and support throughout this horrific ordeal."

West is a white woman who is 5'10" and 130 pounds, and was last seen in long, dark leggings, a teal sweatshirt and a bun atop her head. She may be wearing glasses and is considered at-risk due to depression, according to San Francisco police.
West was born in Walnut Creek and lived briefly in Castro Valley before her family moved to Pleasanton. She was a student at Donlon Elementary and Hart Middle schools and attended Foothill High School for her freshman and sophomore years.
Her family relocated to North Carolina in July 2017. West returned to the Bay Area as a University of California, Berkeley student, where she studied until recently, San Francisco police said when she was first reported missing. She had moved in with friends in San Francisco, where she was living when she disappeared.
A vigil was held in October for West in Pleasanton.
A missing person case has also been launched in Orange County, North Carolina, where West's family still lives.
"We just want her to come home,” West's parents said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Scott Dudek, private investigator, at 925-705-8328. He will award the payout.
