BAY AREA — The number of newly listed homes on the market has declined dramatically, according to figures compiled by Zillow. In the San Jose area, new listings were down 44-percent in December when compared to the previous year, and 46-percent in the rest of the Bay Area.

The report also found that the number of homes selling over asking price dropped more than 30 percent year over year.

Patch editors selected 17 homes currently for sale to be featured this week ranging in price from $800,000 to $4.5 million.
