SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect rain and thunderstorms to return Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
"Rain lingers through Wednesday," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Sunday. "Warming and drying trend kicks off Friday."

In other news, an off-duty Bay Area police officer died; a dog was killed and multiple people were displaced in an apartment complex fire; at least 10 people were hurt in a jail fight; and three people were arrested after a police chase.
Also, the Trump administration has taken aim at all 22 campuses of the California State University System, launching a probe into alleged antisemitism. The probe stems from campus protests against Israel's war in Gaza in the spring of 2024, after Hamas attacked Israel Oct. 7, 2023.
