SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect gusty onshore winds up to 25 to 30 mph Monday afternoon and evening, especially along the coast and through mountain passes, according to the National Weather Service.
"Temperatures warm slightly but remain below seasonal averages this week," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Sunday. "Strong onshore afternoon winds will gradually increase through mid-week."

In other news, three people were killed in a plane crash; a body was found in a river; a co-pilot was arrested by federal agents after landing; a person was fatally shot at an illegal nightclub; and a women told police she stabbed her boyfriend to death in self-defense.
Plus, UFCW Local 5 and UFCW Local 648 have reached a tentative agreement with Safeway, averting a planned strike that would have been the first regional labor stoppage against the company in nearly three decades, the union announced. The deal follows five months of negotiations and growing strike momentum from the 16,000 Safeway employees represented by the unions in the Bay Area.
