There was no indication that Pearsall was targeted because he is a football player, Scott said.

He said police presence would be stepped up in the Union Square shopping district.
Mayor London Breed called the attack an isolated incident.
"Unfortunately, this incident, we are glad that the victim will be OK, but this incident does set us back from all the hard work we've done," Breed said.
The neighborhood where the shooting took place is one block from Union Square, the city's major retail hub. Shops near Geary and Grant include luxury retailers Valentino Boutique, Dolce & Gabbana and Yves Saint Laurent.
Pearsall, 23, was drafted by the 49ers in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft.
