Fans Save Band's SF Concert After Thief Steals Their Instruments From Van

"Because of your kindness and care we are able to continue on the second half of our tour," the band said on social media.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — People are rallying behind an indie pop band that had their van broken into and several instruments stolen during the western leg of their countrywide tour.

The band, which is set to play at Cafe du Nord in San Francisco on Thursday, had made a stop in Seattle earlier this week as part of their "The Rubber Teeth Talk Tour."

While in Seattle, someone broke into their van and trailer, according to the band. Whoever broke in stole several instruments, sentimental items and clothes, according to a GoFundMe set up by the band to help them recoup their losses.

"It is already so difficult to afford touring, so when stuff like this happens, it can be pretty disheartening and challenging on the road," the band members said on the fundraiser. "It could have been a lot worse, and luckily, we have enough instruments and gear remaining to continue on our tour."

In just over a day, the band was able to raise $14,175, surpassing their original $10,000 goal.

In a post on social media, the band said they were overwhelmed by the support they had received from their community and thanked everyone.

"Thank you everyone for donating to our gofundme and surpassing our goal and for people who have reached out to lend us gear," the band said on social media. "Because of your kindness and care we are able to continue on the second half of our tour."

The San Francisco venue on Thursday is one of the band's many stops on their tour in the next few weeks. They will be playing in Los Angeles at El Cid on Friday and at Phoenix's Valley Bar on Sunday.

The tour will then take them to Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina and Washington D.C.
