BART Equipment Issues Cause 'Major Delay' Monday Morning: Officials

The delays are impacting riders traveling from San Francisco to the East Bay, transit officials said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — An equipment issue in the Transbay Tube is impacting travel from San Francisco to the East Bay, Bart officials said on Monday.

Transit officials announced just after 6 a.m. that the issue prompted them to shut down service on the Red and Green lines, causing a "major delay" for riders.

"Trains are using one track and there is limited service through the Transbay Tube," officials said in a statement online.

It is recommended that riders traveling from Millbrae take the shuttle between San Francisco Airport and Millbrae before transferring to or from the Yellow Line (Antioch-SFO train), officials said. Millbrae riders traveling from Richmond should take the Orange Line (Berryessa train) and then transfer into the Yellow Line (SFO train), officials said.

Riders bound for San Francisco can take the Orange Line (Richmond train) and then transfer onto the Blue Line (Daly City train), officials said. Riders headed toward the East Bay should take the Blue Line (Dublin train) and then transfer onto the Orange Line (Berryessa train), officials said.
