Bay Area Distillery Will Attempt World Record For Most People Shaking Cocktails

SAN FRANCISCO — Gold Bar Whiskey Distillery in San Francisco will attempt this weekend to break the Guinness world record for most people shaking cocktails simultaneously.
The attempt will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at the distillery on Treasure Island. The current record is 1,710 people.
"Our interactive cocktail classes at our Tasting Room sparked this world record breaking idea,” Elliott Gillespie, president of Gold Bar, said in a news release. “San Francisco is globally recognized as a top city for mixology, so let's break this record for our amazing city."

An event built around the attempt will run from 2-8 p.m. and be hosted by San Francisco Giants broadcaster and two-time World Series champion Hunter Pence. Attendees will learn to make Gold Bar’s signature cocktail, take home a commemorative shaker, and have the chance to listen to cover band Neon Velvet and shop a vendor village.
