Bay Area Thunderstorm Forecast, Wildfire, Road Rage: NorCal In Brief

SAN FRANCISCO — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories: After a rather pleasant Sunday, cool and unsettled weather will make its way back into the Bay Area to kick off the workweek, and the odds for thunderstorms build into Monday evening.
"This system will result in an increased probability of showers and thunderstorms, first over the Central Coast as early as Monday morning and then over the entire San Francisco Bay Area by Monday night," NWS Bay Area said Sunday. "As we head towards midweek and the weather system shifts inland, the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms will decrease."

- Thunderstorms
- Central Coast: 15-25% probability Monday afternoon into Monday night
- San Francisco Bay Area: 10-20% probability Monday afternoon into Monday Night
- Rain Showers
- Central Coast: 10-20% probability Monday morning increasing to 20-40% by Monday night
- Rainfall amounts through Tuesday: generally around 0.10" with a 30-60% probability of exceeding 0.25"
- San Francisco Bay Area: 10-20% probability Monday afternoon increasing to 20-30% by Monday night
- Rainfall amounts through Tuesday: generally less than 0.10" with a 20-30% probability of exceeding 0.10"
- The greatest potential of rainfall exceeding 0.25" through Tuesday will be across the Central Coast and within stronger showers or thunderstorms that develop and move over any given area.
Catching up on the weekend, fire crews worked quickly Sunday afternoon to contain a fast-growing fire in Monterey County, and officials in Sonoma County are offering residents a free way to make their homes more defensible this fire season.
