Bicycle Rider Seriously Injured, Struck by Car

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- A vehicle struck a woman on a bicycle in San Francisco's Outer Parkside neighborhood near Ocean Beach Tuesday evening, causing serious injuries, according to police.

The collision was reported at 7:17 p.m. on Great Highway near Vicente Street, police said. A Toyota traveling south hit the 23-year-old victim, who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening major head injuries, according to police.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, remained at the scene and was not arrested, police said. Investigators said impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
