SAN FRANCISCO — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories: Summer officially arrives Wednesday, but a cold front will persist in the Bay Area to kick off the week. There is some more sunshine on tap, but gusty winds are in the forecast through at least Tuesday.

The National Weather Service explained Sunday:

"While we should stay under Wind Advisory criteria, gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range are expected, with higher elevations of the East Bay potentially seeing gusts exceeding 45 mph for a time this afternoon. This enhanced mixing should limit low stratus development tonight into Monday, but still expect some patches to reform along the San Mateo coast and around Monterey Bay. That said, definitely more sun around both today and tomorrow as compared to what we`ve been seeing lately so we certainly won`t complain about that."

Catching up on the weekend, Cal Fire crews got a handle on two wildfires that ignited over the weekend, and Petaluma police are searching for three teens suspected of beating a boy at soccer practice. A Santa Rosa man convicted of killing his girlfriend's former partner in Petaluma received the highest sentence possible.

Plus, with the Oakland A's poised to make the move to Las Vegas, some wonder if San Jose might be the right fit for an MLB team.
