Canada's Largest Asian Grocery Chain Is Quickly Expanding In The Bay Area

Construction is already underway at the San Jose and San Francisco locations; now, Millbrae is getting in the loop.

MILLBRAE, CA — Canada's largest Asian Grocery Store is quickly expanding into the Bay Area.

Officials at T&T Supermarket announced in 2024 that they had selected San Jose for its Bay Area flagship store. The company quickly doubled down, choosing San Francisco as the site for a second store and Millbrae for a third.

"I have had my eye on Millbrae for awhile – it’s a great spot to serve families living in the peninsula and well spaced between our San Francisco and San Jose locations," T&T Supermarket CEO Tina Lee said in a statement on Nov. 20. "We hope our store becomes a place where neighbors come together to shop, eat, take comfort in familiar flavors and discover new tastes."

The San Jose location was slated to open this fall, but has been postponed until at least spring 2026 due to construction delays caused by power issues, Lee said in an October social media video.

The San Francisco and Millbrae locations are scheduled to open by winter 2026, according to T&T Supermarket.

Aside from groceries, T&T Supermarket says it offers restaurant-quality food at affordable prices. The stores will feature a self-serve hot food bar, street food made-to-order, baked goods, exclusive asian beverages and hundreds of exclusive products.

The new stores are also expected to create hundreds of jobs across the Bay Area.
