NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, residents should expect cooler conditions with slight chances of rain this week in most parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service.

"Slight rain chances continue early this morning. Gradually clearing with cooler temps today," NWS San Francisco forecasters wrote Monday. "Another system enters the picture Wednesday with additional rain chances. Warming into the weekend."

In other news, one person and two cats were rescued from a burning building in San Francisco, authorities said. The blaze sparked in an apartment on the top floor of a high-rise in the Little Saigon area.

A man was arrested on suspicion of multiple felonies after a fire broke out and vandalism was reported at a Bay Area college.
