Driver Arrested In Hit-And-Run That Left Scooter Rider Critically Injured: Police

The crash happened the night of Oct. 3 in San Francisco, police said.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left two scooter riders injured, including one critically, in San Francisco has been arrested, police said.

The driver was traveling in the area of Haight and Lyon streets just before 10 p.m. on Oct. 3, when they crashed into a scooter rider and a parked vehicle, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

Two people were board the scooter when the crash happened, police said. One of them was critically injured, but they were both taken to local hospitals for treatment, police said.

Officers later found the vehicle involved in the crash abandoned near the area of Page Street and Central Avenue, police said.

Following an investigation, officers identified San Francisco resident Fatima Zahra Kabira Ghaleb, 21, as the person driving the vehicle and secured a warrant for her arrest, police said.
