Fire Crews Tackle 2 Blazes Sunday Night

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco crews knocked down fires that hit a scooter repair business and a residential laundry room Sunday night, according to fire officials.

Around 9:30 p.m., firefighters extinguished a residential laundry room in the area of Rutledge and Massasoit streets in Peralta Heights neighborhood.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., crews contained a blaze inside a scooter repair business in the 3200 block of 21st Street in the Mission District area. According to fire officials, firefighters found multiple batteries inside the establishment.

Hazmat crews had to be called to the scene to clear the area, fire officials said.
