This program is listed among the top 300 home health agencies in the nation by Newsweek

San Francisco, Calif., Oct. 22, 2025 – Kaiser Permanente San Francisco’s Home Health Care program is receiving national recognition for providing high-quality, comprehensive care to patients who are homebound and need specialized medical care.
The hospital’s program is included in Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Best Home Health Agencies 2026. This prestigious award recognizes the top 300 home health agencies across 25 states. There are more than 10,000 home health agencies operating across the United States.
Home health agencies were measured based on quality and accreditation data, patient experience, and a national online survey.

“Our home health care program is designed to help our patients get healthier, stay comfortable, and live as independently as possible,” said Chris Boyd, interim senior vice president and area manager for Kaiser Permanente's Golden Gate service area, which includes the San Francisco and San Rafael medical centers. “Our teams of skilled nurses and therapists provide patients with the coordinated care and support they need after leaving our hospitals or if they are unable to leave their homes, improving overall quality of life.”
Research shows that people who receive at-home care are less likely to be readmitted to a hospital, have lower costs, and better overall experiences than in traditional care settings, according to a study in JAMA Network.
