Major Bay Area Heat Wave, Mass Arrests In SF: NorCal In Brief

SAN FRANCISCO — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories: Heat is the headline in the Golden State for the back half of this week. Much of the inland Bay Area is favored to hit the 90s with a few areas reaching triple digits heading into next weekend. At the same time, plummeting humidity will increase fire risks regionwide. Even San Francisco could reach 80 degrees by Saturday.

"Temperatures gradually increase through this week, peaking over the weekend with highs well into the 90s and up to 110 for inland valleys," NWS Bay Area wrote Sunday. "With no major offshore winds expected, the marine layer will likely remain intact along the coast, keeping afternoon highs generally in the 70s."
