Man Convicted Of Assaulting SF Police Officer

"This case highlights the dangers our officers face daily."

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A jury has convicted a San Francisco man of charges for allegedly ramming police cars with a stolen vehicle last year, prosecutors said.

The alleged attack occurred on March 20, 2024, when officers investigating an unrelated case encountered Tristan Durham, 28, in a stolen Ford Expedition at an apartment complex near Lake Merced, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.

As sirens sounded, Durham reportedly reversed into an unmarked police car, drove onto a sidewalk at high speed, and rammed another police vehicle, prosecutors said. The officer inside narrowly avoided injury.
