Man Dies Days After Being Shot In San Francisco: Police

Police say the man was shot in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood on Friday afternoon.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A man who was shot Friday in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood has died, police said.

Edmund Bowen, 42, used a shotgun to shoot a man just before 5 p.m. in the area of Larkin and Grove streets, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by medics to a local hospital for treatment, police said. He died from his injuries on Monday, police said. He was only identified in police records as a 61-year-old man.

Bowen was already in custody in connection with the shooting when the victim died, police said. Investigators will now look to charge the 42-year-old with murder, police said.
