Man Shot in Chest Following Argument With Nine Men
Police are investigating a shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood that left a 24-year-old man with life-threatening injuries.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- Police are investigating a shooting in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood that left a 24-year-old man with life-threatening injuries Thursday night.
At 10:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting near Eddy and Leavenworth streets, according to police. Officers learned a group of nine people approached a 24-year-old man and a verbal argument ensued, police said. One of the group members then pulled out a handgun, shooting the victim.
The group then fled on foot towards Hyde Street. The victim did not know the group. The nine suspects were described as all men in their 20s, according to police. The victim was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police were able to detain one of the suspects, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said. Police, however, were unable to recover the handgun used in the shooting and are continuing to investigate the incident, according to Esparza.
