SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A Bay Area CEO and Elon Musk are calling for President Donald Trump to send the National Guard to San Francisco, citing public safety issues, according to multiple reports online.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff told The New York Times in an interview last week that Trump should deploy the National Guard to San Francisco to take a stand against crime in the city.

Over the weekend, Musk took to X to voice his concerns about public safety issues in San Francisco, calling the downtown area a "drug zombie apocalypse."

The call for the National Guard to come into San Francisco is happening as Trump continues his campaign for federal intervention in cities run by Democratic mayors.
