Police Announce Arrest Of Mass Shooter
Authorities have arrested a suspected Sureños gang member in connection with the June 9 mass shooting that injured nine people.

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco police have confirmed the arrest of a suspect in the Mission District mass shooting that injured nine people last Friday.
Authorities arrested Javier Campos in connection with the mass shooting that occurred during a party hosted by a clothing store near the intersection of 24th Street and Treat Avenue, at about 9 p.m. Friday, June 9.
"Campos had several outstanding warrants for his arrest from multiple Bay Area agencies," police said adding that Campos is believed to be a member of the Sureños gang.

All nine victims are expected to survive.
San Francisco police were part of a "multi-jurisdictional effort" that took Campos into custody on Wednesday, the department said in a statement Wednesday night. "Campos had several outstanding warrants for his arrest from multiple Bay Area agencies."

Dying Breed, a clothing store located near the intersection where the shooting happened, was scheduled to celebrate its sixth anniversary Friday night with a block party when the shooting occurred.
“This kind of violence on our streets in unacceptable,” Chief of Police William Scott said the day of the shooting. “People should feel safe to go out in San Francisco without fear of being victims of gun violence.”
