Prosecutors Reveal New Details In Deadly SoMa Shooting
The defendant was charged this week in connection with the shooting, according to prosecutors.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 49-year-old man has been charged in connection with a shooting last month that left a man dead in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, prosecutors said.
Derral Robi is facing charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of an assault weapon, possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction and possession of ammunition, according to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office.
Prosecutors say Robi shot and killed a man who police found lying in the area of Sixth and Natoma streets just after 12 a.m. Sunday.

The man had been following Robi, according to prosecutors, who said officers recovered footage that shows what led up to the deadly shooting.
Robi pulled out a gun, which prompted the man to run away, prosecutors said.

The man tripped at some point, and as he was getting up, Robi fired several shots at him, prosecutors said. It's unclear if Robi and the man knew each other. Authorities have not publicly identified the man.
