SAN FRANCISCO, CA — More than 40 protesters were arrested by federal agents Tuesday morning after chaining themselves to the entrance of San Francisco's immigration court, according to a report by Mission Local.
Hundreds of protesters arrived before dawn, seeking to shut down the immigration courthouse in San Francisco, according to the report.
Many were chained together, according to the report, which said the protesters were successful in shutting down court proceedings for the day.

San Francisco fire crews arrived at the scene and used large bolt cutters to cut the chains of protesters, according to the report.
Video and photos by Mission Local appear to show federal agents taking the chains off a courthouse door and leading people in cuffs into the courthouse.

“I’m here today because my faith tradition, like all spiritual traditions, teaches us to care and love for the stranger and to pursue justice,” Rabbi Zavis, one of the people arrested outside the court Tuesday morning, told Mission Local.
