SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- Discussion website, Reddit, could go public in the future, said CEO Steve Huffman. In a Monday interview at the Internet Association’s Virtuous Circle Summit, Huffman said the company could go public by 2020, according to an article by Variety.
"'The time frame is petty far out,' he admitted. However, he also argued that going public was inevitable for Reddit to both reward employees and investors, calling it 'the only responsible choice' for the company," the article reads.
The company was founded in 2005 by Huffman and Alexis Ohanian. It was acquired by Condé Nast Publications in October 2006.
