Season 2 of "Westworld" premiered in San Francisco this Wednesday with cast members Simon Quarterman and Shannon Woodward.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Alas! The much-anticipated season 2 of the sci-fi series, “Westworld,” arrives this Sunday, April 22 on HBO. Based on the 1973 film by the late Michael Crichton, the mind-bending drama follows the lives of “hosts” (robots) and the wealthy visitors to Westworld, an experiential Wild-West themed park.

Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the “Westworld” saga continues with the aftermath of a robot uprising in which robots revolted against their masters (humans) over the control of the futuristic amusement park.

As for Quarterman’s exasperating character Lee Sizemore, he shared some of the distasteful comments he’s received.

“People would come up to me and say, ‘I hate your character!’ They were just dripping venom. It got personal and I wasn’t expecting that.”

The second season of “Westworld” premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 22 at 9 p.m. (PT/ET).
