SFO Scores Multiple USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco International Airport scored multiple awards for its food and beverage programs in the annual USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards, a news release issued by SFO announced.

SFO was named among the 10 best airports for shopping, coming in at No. 8 due to what USA Today said was an "abundance of upscale options" and spots to stop for souvenirs.

"Travelers can find luxury designer goods at Burberry, Gucci, Hermes, and Saint Laurent, as well as gourmet food and gifts at California Lifestyle," USA today said.

SFO came in at No. 5 in the “Best Airport Grab-And-Go Food” category, thanks to SFO’s Napa Farms Market, with locations in the International Terminal and Terminal 2.

"Curating a selection of sustainable, organic, high-quality food and beverage products from the Napa Valley region, travelers can savor the essence of Northern California's culinary scene before they fly," USA Today said.

SFO also earned an award in the “Best Airport Lounge” category for the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, located in the International Terminal which came in at No. 8.

"The Clubhouse is also focused on the West Coast experience, with locally sourced cuisine paired with a California wine. There are signature cocktails, speedy Wi-Fi, comfortable seating options, and shower facilities at this luxury lounge," USA Today said.

Airport Director Ivar C. Satero said SFO was "thrilled" to be recognized with multiple USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards .

"Our entire team has worked hard to create an extraordinary airport experience, complete with features and amenities designed to make our travelers’ journey unforgettable," Satero said. "Being named the best by travel experts and USA Today readers is the ultimate validation of our efforts."

USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards highlight the best of the best in contests covering categories such as destinations, food and drink, hotels, and things to do. Nominees in all categories are submitted by a panel of experts. The final set of nominees are selected by 10Best editors before being presented to the public for voting.
