SAN FRANCISCO — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories: We're just a few days into summer and the Bay Area is poised to see its first big heat-up of the season leading up to Independence Day. While there are a few unknowns in the forecast, early models agree that the mercury will be rising soon.
"While the placement and strength [are] still in question, confidence is building that temperatures will rapidly warm across inland areas for Thursday through this coming holiday weekend," NWS Bay Area wrote Sunday. "At this point in time, the range of possibilities for the inland areas [is] quite broad. For example, the spread for Concord ranges from 85 to 94 on Saturday, with a 7% chance that it could hit 100."
Catching up on the weekend, Santa Clara deputies took several firearms, including a "ghost gun," and a large cache of ammunition from a San Martin home, and police in Mill Valley are investigating a robbery that left one homeowner in the hospital.
Plus, four young people are accused in a big Lego heist, and Petaluma has crowned the new "world's ugliest dog."
