Suspect Arrested In Fatal SoMa District Shooting: Police

What led up to the shooting remains unclear.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Police say they've arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in San Francisco's Soma District early Sunday morning.

San Francisco resident Derral Robi, 48, was taken into custody Monday on suspicion of murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm, authorities said.

Officers found the victim lying in the roadway at Sixth and Natoma streets at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, according to the San Francisco Police Department.

He had been shot multiple times, and despite efforts to save his life, he died at the scene, police said.

Robi, according to police, was located in the area of Market and Jones streets on Monday afternoon. Police say he matched the description of the suspect in the fatal shooting and he was detained.

Enough probable cause was developed, and police took Robi into custody in connection with the shooting, police said.
