SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, Golden State residents should know that some of the state's tightest races could tip the scales in deciding the fate of the U.S. House — but it could take weeks for millions of mail in ballots to be tallied, leaving both Democrats and Republicans at the edge of their seats.

Meanwhile, Democrats celebrated Saturday after an anticipated red wave did not befall the U.S. Senate, but it remains to be seen what will happen after some 11 uncalled races are finalized.

What's more, about 48,000 are poised to strike across the University of California System on Monday, a move that could shut down some classes and laboratories just weeks ahead of final exams in December.
