Verdict In Fatal Beating Of 65-Year-Old Woman | Bay Bridge Opossum Healed

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As we head into the new week, we've rounded up the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.
An opossum that scurried across the Bay Bridge in February is healed and released back into the wild. CHP officers initiated an "extremely slow-speed pursuit” on the bridge’s upper deck. She was found to be both pregnant and wounded, and was treated at WildCare, a San Rafae nonprofit devoted to wildlife rehabilitation.
A jury found Patterson man Kevin Durran Hart, 47, guilty of killing the 65-year-old mother of his girlfriend, according to prosecutors. In May 2023, Hart reportedly got angry about the imagined infidelity of his girlfriend, and beat her mother to death as a result, according to reports. He is facing 26 years to life in prison.
