Video Shows Muni Driver Sleeping, Speeding While Operating Train: Report
The incident happened on Sept. 24 and caused riders to jolt around, according to a news report.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A newly released video shows the moment a MUNI train driver falls asleep behind the controls, causing the vehicle to travel at high speeds before coming to an abrupt stop, according to multiple news reports.
The incident happened on Sept. 24. The video shows the driver operating the N Judah train and dozing off before the vehicle jolted passengers around. The driver then quickly wakes up and can be heard blaming the train for the incident.
The San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency said in a statement to KQED that the error was the result of "operator fatigue" and that it was addressing the matter internally.
