Woman Attacks Flight Crew, SFO Security And Border Agent While Traveling: DOJ
The woman verbally abused, threatened and struck two crew members, authorities said.

SAN FRANCISCO — A Contra Costa County woman recently appeared in court after assaulting crew members, an airport security employee and a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer while traveling from India to San Francisco this summer, authorities said.
Reshma Kamath is charged with two counts of interference with flight crew members; assaulting, resisting or impeding a federal officer; and interference with security screening personnel, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The 40-year-old from Bethel Island was aboard Air India flight 173 from Delhi to San Francisco on June 28-29, authorities said, when she verbally abused, threatened and struck two crew members. Upon landing at San Francisco International Airport, she assaulted an airport security employee, and resisted and struck a border protection officer, according to the department.

She appeared in court on Thursday and her next court date is set for Jan. 7, authorities said. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison for each flight crew interference count, eight years for assaulting a federal officer and 10 years for interfering with security screening personnel, according to the department, which said each count also came with a maximum fine of $250,000.
