Woman, Toddler Hospitalized With Gunshot Wounds

SAN FRANCISCO — A man was found dead after reports of a shooting in a San Francisco residence on Thursday that also left a woman and a toddler hospitalized with gunshot injuries, according to preliminary information from the San Francisco Police Department.

San Francisco police officers were called to the residence in the 1000 block of Tompkins Avenue at about 8:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. The residence is in the Bernal Heights neighborhood, just north of the Alemany Farmers Market.

Officers found a woman inside with gunshot wounds that were considered life-threatening. A man was also found deceased, according to SFPD spokesperson Allison Maxie, who said that the information was preliminary and still being investigated. Maxie did not confirm if the man was shot.

While officers were at the scene investigating, they were informed that a toddler had been taken to a hospital with a gunshot injury, which they believe occurred at that scene.

San Francisco police asked anyone with information to call the department at (415) 575-4444, or to text information to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
