Agenda: School Considers Budget, San Anselmo Approves Ordinance

School district board will continue budget discussions, while town of San Anselmo approves new Public Works Director.

The will meet again tonight at 7 p.m. at the district office on Shaw Drive. On the agenda:

  • Closed session negotiations with the Fairfax-San Anselmo Children's Center and with the San Anselmo Montessori Preschool.
  • Discuss classroom options for facility expansion under the Measure A bond funding and a Measure A budget update.
  • Discuss categorical flexibility with respect to the district's budget and if money can be moved around.
  • Extensive budget discussions on upcoming cuts that will be made in the next three years. Class sizes, staffing and multi-year projections will be discussed.
  • Vote on a proposed 2011-12 budget.
  • Discuss a possible parcel tax.

The San Anselmo Town Council will also meet at 7 p.m. at the Town Hall Council Chambers. On the agenda:

  • Listen to a report on the status of Energy Watch California.
  • Approve Sean Condry as the Public Works Director and approve a reorganization of Public Works and Building Departments to have Building report to Public Works.
  • Approve reorganization of Recreation Department for greater cost savings.
  • Introduce and adopt an ordinance with stricter reporting regulations for independent expenditures for town elections.
  • Consider appointing liaison to Ross Valley Sanitary District and discuss rate increase.
