And the Cutest Dog in San Anselmo and Fairfax is…

Congratulations to Fairfax’s Kim Burggraf and her pup Breeze, because an overwhelming majority of Patch readers deemed the Samoyed puppy the cutest dog in San Anselmo and Fairfax in our . Burggraf will receive a $25 gift certificate to a local pet supply store, two Patch T-shirts and two Patch water bottles. 

The first runner up, Trixie Sophie, will receive two Patch water bottles. 

It’s also worth noting two other pups that came close to second place: Luciano and Cooter.

Our cute dog contest was quite the competition. There were 72 pups entered and 167 comments and votes. 

Want to learn a little bit about San Anselmo and Fairfax’s cutest pup? We asked Burggraf a few questions about the Samoyed puppy:

 

Patch: When and where did you get Breeze?

Burggraf: We picked up Breeze on April 28, 2012 in Chico, CA from Desta Lair. Breeze is from Firecloud Samoyeds (a reputable breeder of champion show dogs).

 

What does Breeze do in her free time?

Breeze loves to chew on stuff, chase squirrel's, tackle her friends and go on hikes. She will be showing for the first time in the puppy category on August 4 at the Richmond Dog Fanciers show in Dixon, CA.

 

Where does Breeze like to hike?

We hike mostly in the Elliot Preserve in Fairfax, but we have been known to go to Sorich Ranch and White Hill.

 

Does Breeze only chase squirrels or other critters as well?

Besides chasing squirrel's, Breeze would like to chase our cats, but we discourage that. Sometimes she storms the chicken coop, but the chickens don't like it either. Breeze thinks it's all great fun!

 

What's Breeze's personality like?  

Breeze's personality is very self assured and confident. She wants to have fun and play and eat delicious treats. She's very curious and wants to be part of whatever is going on.

 

Seems like Breeze has a lot of fans! Does she know a lot of the voters? Also, did you promote this on social media? 

We have a lot of friends and a playful community of people, many of which either know Breeze personally or have seen her growing up on Facebook. I posted your contest on my Facebook page along with letting my non-FB people know that Breeze is entered in this contest, but her cute face also speaks for itself. :)

 

Lots of voters had fun with Breeze’s name, from “easy Breezy” to “it’s a Breeze to vote for Breeze.” Where did Breeze get her name? 

Breeze's name came form her AKC name: Firecloud's Alas-KIN Arctic Breeze". I wanted to name her Mia or Chloe or something lovely and fluffy … she's more like a breeze or really like a hurricane, but I don't want to call her hurricane.  She also perked up when we said Breeze out loud so maybe she named herself. It wouldn't surprise me.
