Broken Water Main Blocks Part Of Downtown San Anselmo

Police asked people to avoid a handful of downtown streets Thursday following a water main break in San Anselmo.

SAN ANSELMO, CA — Police asked people to avoid parts of downtown San Anselmo on Thursday morning due to a water main break.

Central Marin Police Authority officials announced the break at about 9:45 a.m. and asked people to avoid the area of Tunstead, San Anselmo and Cedar avenues because of road closures and flooding.

The Marin Municipal Water District is working to repair the broken pipe, police said.
