Cape-Wearing Woman Accused of Shoplifting at Safeway in San Anselmo

Central Marin Police arrested a 56-year-old San Anselmo woman last week on suspicion of shoplifting after she was accused by Safeway employees of stealing food from the store while wearing a velvet cape and a mini skirt.

The incident occurred last week at the Safeway at 838 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., when a woman reportedly ran out of the store with "a number of food items." She was described as a black woman in her 30s sporting a velvet cape and  red mini skirt while carrying a bag.  The woman, was arrested several hours later in the 100 block of Sir Francis Drake and booked into Marin County Jail.
