Lily Elise makes the battle round cut on NBC's 'The Voice.'

Housh, who graduated from Drake in 2009 and currently attends USC, was picked in the first round of blind auditions by Christina Aguilera -- .

Aguilera coached both the singers in their performances -- an experience Housh called "a dream" on camera. On her twitter (@lilyelise) Housh has repeatedly spoken about how much she looked up to Aguilera before ever being on the show, calling her an inspiration and a legend.
After a performance where both Housh and Oakley hit the big notes and filled the stage (a boxing ring) with their personalities, Aguilera had to pick just one of them to continue on to the live competition. Aguilera called Housh a "hot mama," in her red heels and hoodie suspenders, before naming her as the winner in the battle round.

Housh, who now attends USC Thornton School of Music, was part of the teen a cappella group'Til Dawn while at Drake. She was also captain of the cheerleading squad at Drake and involved as a music coach and choreographer for YES! Foundation shows.
She will now compete in live rounds with 15 other finalists for $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic, and she is already gathering a fan following from around the country.
Next week, live rounds air at 8 p.m. on NBC and audience members will vote on the surviving singers.
