Fairfax Blaze Guts Iconic Building, Destroys Business
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
FAIRFAX, CA — A two-alarm fire in downtown Fairfax late Tuesday night gutted a business located in an iconic building, Marin County Fire said.
The blaze at 101 Bolinas Road was reported at around 10:50 p.m., Battalion Chief Bret McTigue said.
No injuries were reported, and no evacuations were issued, McTigue said.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, McTigue said.
Fairfax French Laundry was the only business located in the historic structure, McTigue said.

“We spoke with the owners and they’re obviously devastated, McTigue said.
The Ross Valley Fire Department, which is stationed across the street from site of the blaze, was the was the first agency on the scene and served as the lead agency, McTigue said.
Crews from Marin County, Central Marin, Kentfield, San Rafael fire departments helped knock down the blaze, too, McTigue said.
