Fairfax Girl Makes a 'Stand' with Lemonade
Fairfax family launches a fundraising campaign, selling organic lemonade made with ginger, mint and raspberries, to help end human trafficking and slavery.

Fairfax’s 8-year-old Vivienne Harr launched efforts this week to raise $150,000 to help survivors of slavery and exploitation. How will she raise the money? Harr is selling lemonade in .
All donations Harr receives will go to Not For Sale, a Half Moon Bay-based nonprofit working to end human trafficking and slavery. In addition to selling lemonade with ingredients that include organic ginger, organic yerba mate, fresh mint raspberries and bottled Fiji water, Harr has launched her “Make a (Lemonade) Stand” social media campaign with the help of her father, Eric Harr.
The idea for the fundraiser came to fruition during a family trip to Sonoma while viewing Lisa Kristine’s photography. Vivienne was especially moved by a photo of two children in Nepal holding hands while carrying heavy rocks with leather straps across their heads.

“That was the tipping point for our family,” Eric said in a statement. “You could feel the Earth crack underneath us. Vivienne looked us square in the eyes and said: ‘We’re doing something about this.’ ”
Harr told Patch that Vivienne sold out of lemonade the first day her stand was open, raising $216 in 46 minutes.
