Fairfax Police: Festival Leads to Many Alcohol-Related Incidents

Sunday, June 12

Suspicious Circumstances: A man was seen rummaging through a tent at Elsie Lane and Bolinas Road at 12:13 a.m.

Suspicious Vehicle: There was a suspicious vehicle in the west lot of the post office at 1:26 a.m.

With Subjects: An officer was flagged down by a security guard, who said there were subjects in Peri Park at 1:46 a.m.

Barking Dog: A resident reported that a barking dog on Madrone Road woke her up at 5:06 a.m.

Assist: There were rocks in the road on White’s Hill, which could cause cyclists to swerve into traffic.

Alcohol Violation: Officers were with a group at the creek in Peri Park at 4:16 p.m.

Noise: A resident had been playing the drums for 40 minutes, loudly, on Cascade Drive.

Vandalism: Someone carved “HUFF” into the wooden bench outside Fairfax Scoop.

Public Intoxication: Someone was staggering down Park Road at 7:39 p.m.

Disturbance: A subject was involved in a disturbance at Quality Liquors and then ran off down Taylor Drive at 8:13 p.m.

Saturday, June 11

Noise: There was a loud party going on on Azalea Road at 1:36 a.m.

Found: An anonymous person turned in a found debit card.

Suspicious Circumstances: A neighbor saw a door open on Frustuck Avenue and called the resident. He says there is one key unaccounted for.

Unwanted Subject: There was a group of ten people loitering and urinating on Bridge Court at 1:28 p.m.

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer checked a car parked by the tennis courts at 1:44 p.m.

Theft: Someone stole a resident’s wallet the night before on Manor Road.

Unwanted Subjects: There were four to six subjects loitering on Rocca Drive, above Fairfax Garage, throwing bottles and cans downhill, urinating between parked cars and looking into vehicle windows at 2:01 p.m.

Animal: A poodle was found at the Fairfax Festival.

Public Intoxication: An officer initiated activity with a subject on Inyo Avenue, who was wiping blood off his face at 3:01 p.m.

Alcohol Violation: An officer initiated activity at 7-11 at 3:44 p.m.

Public Intoxication: There was a drunk subject near the band stage at 4:16 p.m. and an arrest was made.

Unwanted Subjects: There were about ten people in the parking lot of the 7-11 drunk at 4:28 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A subject was locked in a men’s room stall at the Fairfax Gym at 5:17 p.m.

Alcohol Violation: An ice chest with beer was found in Peri Park.

Drug Violation: A group of juveniles were smoking marijuana at Creek and Bolinas Roads at 6:16 p.m.

Disturbance: There was a large physical altercation at 19 Broadway at 6:55 p.m.

Driving on a Suspended License: At a traffic stop on Broadway Avenue at 7:11 p.m. a man was cited for driving on a suspended license.

With Subjects: A subject was urinating behind Fair-Anselm at 7:30 p.m.

Skateboarding Violation: A group of juveniles was skateboarding and yelling obscenities at people on Bolinas Road at 8:14 p.m.

Noise: A man was drumming for an hour at Mono Avenue and Bolinas Road.

Unwanted Subject: There was an unwanted subject in Peri’s at 9:08 p.m.

Disturbance: A resident was advised by her mother-in-law that she was in a dispute with her boyfriend.

Public Intoxication: An officer was out with an intoxicated subject on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 10:59 p.m. and an arrest was made.

Friday, June 10

Unwanted Subject: There was an unwanted subject on the bench outside the Hummingbird at 10 a.m.

Disturbance: There was a verbal argument at Yoga Fairfax at 11:09 a.m.

Fire: A fire alarm sounded because of burnt food on Taylor Drive.

Driving Under the Influence: There was a report of a DUI driver westbound on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 2:59 p.m.

Accident – No Injury: There was a traffic accident at Willow and Maple Avenues at 8:13 p.m.
