Fairfax Police: Suspicious Vehicles, Smell of Smoke, Campers in the Park

Thursday, July 28

Driving without a License: An officer initiated activity on Scenic Road at 8:26 a.m.

Suspicious Circumstances: There was a suspicious motorcycle parked at Mitchell Drive and Deuce Court since the day before.

Traffic Complaint: A resident reported an ongoing issue with a motorcycle driving too close to cyclists.

Drug Violation: Juveniles were smoking marijuana under the bridge on Bridge Court at 12:12 p.m.

Warrant Criminal: An officer initiated activity at the Fairfax Inn at 4:54 p.m. and an arrest was made.

Barking Dog: A dog was barking on and off for three or four days on Scenic Road.

Wednesday, July 27

Suspicious Vehicle: There was a construction truck with its blinker on in the parking lot on Center Boulevard at 3:38 a.m.

Suspicious Vehicle: There has been a suspicious vehicle parked at the rear of M&G’s for four days.

Sleeper: An officer initiated activity at the Fairfax Market at 8:45 a.m.

Insanity Case: An officer initiated activity at Bolinas Road and Cascade Drive at 9:30 a.m.

Noise: The music from the farmers market was too loud at 5:24 p.m.

Driving on a Suspended License: A possible DUI driver was reported on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at 5:25 p.m. Officers located the driver, who was not DUI, but who was in need of service on a suspended license.

Suspicious Circumstances: A resident found a door open when she returned home on Dominga Avenue at 10:46 p.m.

Barking Dog: Residents leave their dog out all night and it barks in the area of Iron Springs Road.

Tuesday, July 26

Town Code Violation: Contractors were working on a resident’s deck on Bothin Road at 6:39 a.m.

Accident – Non-Injury: A moving van hit a tree on Willow Avenue and knocked a tree into wires at 9:15 a.m.

Town Code Violation: Subjects were warned for camping in Fairfax Park.

Warrant Criminal: A man was standing on Bolinas Road for some time. Officers contacted the subject and found he had a misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

Suspicious Circumstances: A man found a grenade in his yard on Wood Lane.

Town Code Violation: Two subjects were warned about being in Fairfax Park after dark.

Town Code Violation: A subject was warned for sleeping in the park by Rudy Contratti Field and was abated from the area.

Driving Under the Influence: A subject was arrested for driving under the influence at Cascade Drive and Hickory Road at 11:45 p.m. He was cited and released to a sober, responsible adult.

Monday, July 25

Suspicious Vehicle: An officer initiated activity at Shady Brooks Apartments at 12: 14 a.m.

Theft: Gas was stolen from two vans at Deer Park overnight.

Town Code Violation: A subject was cited for an open alcohol container at Peri Park at 2:35 p.m.

Vandalism: A resident’s tires were vandalized on Pine Drive during the night.

Fire: There was a strong smell of smoke coming from near the Marin Town and Country Club at 9:55 p.m.

Public Intoxication: A subject was arrested and booked at the Parkade for public intoxication and probation violation at 10:30 p.m.
