FAIRFAX, CA — The town of Fairfax is readying to complete the painting of a community mural.
The town is scheduled to hold its last Merwin Mural restoration Sunday at 10 a.m., and residents are encouraged to join.
Volunteers have already contributed more than 100 hours renovating the mural nearly 30 years after it was first unveiled.

The renovations are sponsored by the Fairfax Volunteer Board, which started the project in April.
"This work of art is a community gem that many residents haven't discovered," Fairfax Vice Mayor Stephanie Hellman told Patch earlier this year.
